Highgate Wood form: HW.14.3 Hooked-rim bowl

  • Form: Bowl with a thick rim, with two or more heavy and prominent mouldings on the upper surface and (often) a distinct bead on the inner face. The rim is formed by folding over into the body wall, and it may be heavily undercut.
  • Fabric: HWC and HWC+.
  • Phase: Phase 3, with large numbers from the vicinity of Kiln 9 and contexts associated with the southern dump.
